Gutter Cleaning

Advantage Home Exteriors understands that a roof gutter system in MD needs to be properly cleaned and maintained at least two times per year. Typically, you will want to have your gutters cleaned during the late spring, and before winter hits. Doing so will get rid of excess leaf build-up from autumn and free your gutters of other muck and debris. Our home improvement company serving Baltimore, MD and surrounding communities offers a superb gutter cleaning service for homeowners in MD.
It's incredibly vital to have your gutters cleaned regularly to prevent them from getting clogged. If your gutters are clogged and not directing precipitation properly, water damage may occur to your basement and foundation, as well as your soffit and fascia board. Having your gutters properly cleaned by our gutter company will eliminate the risk of having clogged gutters and downspouts.
Gutter Cleaning Process
The first step in the rain gutter cleaning process will involve using a blower and related cleaning tools to blow out large pieces of movable debris from your rain gutters. Doing so will provide your home with a number of benefits. Firstly, a hose won't need to be dragged up a ladder to wash out movable debris. When our gutter cleaners use a powerful blower, it will have enough force to clear out any of the large chunks of muck and leaf piles.
Next, to remove additional muck and debris, we will clean the horizontal section of your rain gutters using a blower extension tool. There are numerous powerful tools which can be extended to as much as 20 feet in height to help you with maintaining your gutter system. We will begin on one side of your gutter system and go slowly to the other side holding the blower tool firmly and keeping the nozzles inside the gutter drain channel at all times.
Next, we will take care of your downspouts by using a special downspout attachment for the blower. The blower will be held while the air moves through the downspout and loosens up any clogs. The debris will come out, but some may be left over in the downspout. We will be sure to carefully inspect the inside of the downspout for any excess buildup before moving on.
After your downspouts are clean, we'll move over the horizontal section of the roof gutter again to remove any leaves and muck which might have fallen while we were cleaning your downspouts.
Finally, our gutter cleaners will inspect your gutter system one more time and use a trowel, wire brush and/or steel wool to help with removing any debris that may be stuck to the walls of the drain channel. Fortunately, there should not be much left in the gutters and drain channels, but it's best that we have these tools at hand to be on the safe side.
